Whispers On The Streets came to the Miami Beach Convention Center this past Thursday for the official first day of the day of the Art Basel Miami Beach 2012. The ABMB event is the original of what has now grown into a multi-fair, multiple venue affair and week long expression of all arts and mediums throughout the city.

Some notable artists from Picasso, Warhol, Murakami, Hirst, Haring, & Basquiat were represented at the main show from galleries around the world. Other up and coming artist represented included street artist Retna who’s works have been seen in the Wynnwood district for years. More pics after the jump. Continue reading

Today is the end of an era. Our Space program is finally closing its doors for the last time on the Cape. The debate is heated on weather its a grand mistake or a fiscal responsibility. I thought it would cool to show you what happened in the Everglades after the Cold War was in full effect and Florida finished building missles. This is a pretty cool mini documentary by Joey Doaud via Boing Boing called Space Miami.

W.O.S. EUROtour Ep.8 – Més Que Un Club from W.O.S. on Vimeo.

Episode 8 – During our stay in Barcelona, I escaped the group for a few hours to check out the world famous Camp Nou soccer stadium. The home of the Futbol Club de Barcelona (FCB). The stadium is literally a hall of fame museum of all time soccer greats! However it is more than just a futbol team to the people of Catalunya…it’s an institution of regional pride and culture! FCB is “més que un club”. VISÇA BARÇA! Music by JUSTICE.

So I decided to look outside this realm and into some of the other more stable industries in our Florida economy; government and education??? Who knows! I just need a J.O. so I can keep up with my sneaker fetish.

In any case, I figured since I am a minority and our President Is Black, a diversity  job fair might actually give me some reasonable alternatives to the unemployment line….Boy was I wrong!
